Erin is a Master’s student in the Clinical Psychology program at the University of British Columbia – Okanagan (UBCO) supervised by Dr. Maya Libben. Erin Completed her Bachelor of Science with Honours in Psychology from UBCO in 2021. Erin’s honours thesis explored the effectiveness of brief gratitude meditation on body dissatisfaction and whether it would serve as a projective factor against exposure to idealized imagery. Before entering graduate school Erin worked primarily as a research coordinator, managing projects in areas such as Alzheimer’s disease, depression and women’s health research. Erin also worked part time supporting individuals living with eating disorders. Throughout her graduate studies Erin wishes to continue to investigate constructs such as gratitude, mindfulness and self-compassion on body image and other related outcomes. She is particularly interested in the role of brief micro interventions in helping individuals cultivate better relationships with their bodies. Outside of school Erin enjoys spending time with friends and family, cooking, and traveling.
